Borussia Dortmund have won their first match at Hamburgen SV since November 16 thanks to a late goal by Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Jannick Vestergard, who also scored the winning goal for the hosts.
Borussia Möchenglia took the lead when Vestergart scored his eighth of the season after 24 minutes.
Vestergaard scored the only goal of the match just before the hour mark, finishing from the edge of the box with a perfectly weighted cross.
It was the second time in four matches that he has netted a goal.
Achilles injury is expected to rule out Giorgio Chiellini for Saturday’s visit of Inter Milan, but Klopp will be able to use several experienced players at the back, including Christian Pulisic, Jakub Blaszczykowski and the suspended Daniel Sturridge.
The striker’s first goal came for Borussia against Hamburg last week and the club will be without the injured Vestergergh when they meet Borussia Bremen on Saturday.
